Mindful Marbling: Intro to Suminagashi

Tuesday, August 13th

6:00pm - 7:30pm

Intro to Suminagashi at CRAFT in Central East Austin

Suminagashi, translated as “floating ink, ” is an ancient Japanese art form where ink is applied to the surface of water, manipulated to create beautiful patterns, and then transferred to a sheet of paper.

During this workshop, your instructor Leah McKnight will help you to create at least four one-of-a-kind suminagashi art pieces. First, we’ll go over a number of different techniques you can use to create your marbled designs, and then you’ll be free to sink into the relaxing flow of marbling.

Planning for a group? We can schedule a private workshop for 4 or more people. No kids (high schoolers welcome). One spot is for one person. We can make changes to your reservation up to one week before your workshop date.
